I'm working remotely from Summerville, SC today. It's been a good "Geek Day" and I would like to share it with you. I'm here visiting family but not taking time off. This has given me a unique opportunity for remote access to my system @ home in Charlotte, NC. My daughter wanted to watch Sleeping Beauty but we didn't load it before we left home. No problem. I used Back to my Mac to access my Drobo through my Mac Mini and copied it straight to my desktop. While there I got the wild idea to stream some video to my iPad from home using ZumoCast. I watched "The Last Starfighter" without any issue. Zumocast performed beautifully. Then I decided to remotely control the screen on my Mac Mini back home. I fired up Handbrake and encode a version of "Star Wars: A New Hope" that I could stream as well. The cherry on top was using ShutterSnitch on my iPad to capture pictures from my Mother-in-Law of the fun I was missing while working. I fired it up which started an accessible FTP server on m iPad and I was able to connect from her Windows laptop and drop all the pictures watching them roll in the whole time on my pad.
I just love it when technology works and I felt compelled to share. Cheers!
BTW, here is a quick shot of my work setup for the day...
