While the rest of the world is struggling Exxon is making money hand over fist thanks to loosely regulated oil. Thanks to price gouging they are getting rich while the rest of us suffer to make ends meet.
Oh, but surely that is not an indicator that we should stop spending so much money on securing foreign oil? Surely this doesn't show that the lobbyists for the oil companies in Washington are succeeding in keeping us focused on their stability while running the rest of the country into the ground. Surely this proves that the money we pump overseas to the middle east is justified since we need to secure America and do everything we can to support the fragile oil industry that supplies the fuel that keeps our country moving. Surely you can pick up the sarcasm dripping from this paragraph.
